*2014 GTI call for proposals in regard to ‘taxonomic training and access to
collections in Belgium’ *
Dear colleagues,

With the present message, the Belgian Focal Point to the Global Taxonomy
Initiative wishes to inform you that, on 13 December 2013, it has
officially launched its new call for proposals for capacity development in
regard to ‘taxonomic training and access to collections in Belgium’ for the
year 2014.

The 2014 call aims at funding short-term visits in Belgium for students,
young researchers or trained taxonomists in order to help building
scientific and technical expertise on biodiversity in the South.

It is very important that applicants clearly state in their project:
 ·       How they plan to use their projects to advance research in their
field;
 ·       How they will disseminate their results (poster, publication,
diploma, oral communication, etc…);
 ·       How their project will contribute to the conservation of
biodiversity and/or ecosystem services in the partner country;
 ·       How their project could (in a long or medium term) contribute to
fight against poverty in the South;
 ·       How their work contributes to the strengthening of their institute.

Applications must be submitted online *until 16 February 2014*.
Decision on eventual acceptance will be made by 12 March 2014. All selected
projects will be carried out between 1st May 2014 and 31 December 2014*.
